You have helped protect Canada’s freshwater this past year. You can continue to make a difference with your year-end donation before midnight on December 31st and receive a 2021 charitable tax receipt!
One project your support made possible in 2021 was the restoration of in-water fish habitat on two lakes!
Woody debris piles (pictured) provide critical habitat features for fish and turtles.
Your support in 2021 has resulted in on-the-ground, tangible impacts to protect and enhance Canada’s freshwater! Some projects that you made possible this year include:
- The Future of our Shores report was published through the new, collaborative Planning for our Shorelands project, and was featured on CBC News;
- Through the Natural Edge shoreline re-naturalization program, 12,714 native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers were planted along 14,410-square metres of shoreline;
- 1,062 Canadians joined the online Freshwater Stewardship Community, a free centralized place for waterfront groups, individuals, and other organizations to connect and work together to protect their freshwater;
- Nature Discovery Programming was launched across Eastern-Central Ontario, connecting families and students with local nature; and
- The Love Your Lake shoreline assessment program expanded to the Maritimes thanks to new regional delivery partner Re-imagining Atlantic Harbours in Nova Scotia.
All of this was possible because of committed and generous individuals like you, Barbara! This year was difficult, but we worked together to ensure the health and well-being of our freshwater continued to be protected. Thank you for making this possible!
Your year-end contribution will help to keep these important programs running. Your gift of $100, $50, or even $25 today will help to make sure that Watersheds Canada stays strong and is able to take more action to protect our freshwater into 2022. Your donation today will be your legacy for Canada’s shorelines.
Thank you for your support!
