Have you ever noticed how many things you can fit into a backpack? Backpacks hold more than just our water bottles and bugspray. They can carry tools that help us create memories and connect with nature. It’s even possible to fit the wonders of Canada’s freshwater and forests inside a backpack. We want to partner alongside you this Earth Day to ensure more children have access to fun, age-appropriate activities and science equipment this summer.
Over the past three years, Watersheds Canada’s Nature Discovery Backpacks have been used by 1,782 children and adults! The program has grown each year into new provinces in French and English. Will you help more children explore and connect with nature this summer?

We work hard with our partners to deliver education programs that are locally relevant, curriculum-linked to each province, can be offered in French or English, are science-based, and that are also fun! Your donation this Earth Day will have very practical benefits as more dollars raised means more backpacks are available to more communities across Canada.
We know how important it is for children to form an early and positive connection with nature. This generation will soon be our decision-makers, waterfront association volunteers, and educators. They need fun and accessible opportunities from an early age to connect with nature and local species. You can make that possible today with a $50, $100, $200, or $300 donation. All donations are eligible for a Canadian income tax receipt, and will purchase science tools and fund lesson development, getting more children outside in nature this year.
It’s possible to fit the natural world inside a backpack. There are so many animals to hear, trees to climb, and wetlands to explore. Help children have this opportunity by making your Earth Day donation today.

P.S. You can make an even bigger impact for nature-based learning for children by becoming a monthly donor! Scheduled giving helps us know what money we have available each year to deliver quality and vital programs like Nature Discovery Backpacks. Donating $10, $20, or even $50 a month – $120, $240, or $600 per year – has a huge impact! Thank you for your generosity.
