Take Action Against Cyanobacteria!
Imagine arriving at the lake to find out it is too dangerous to enjoy it. Signs about human and pet health dangers are not what we want to find around our favourite fishing, swimming, or cottage destination. Serious lake health warnings are being issued more than ever before as a result of harmful cyanobacteria, commonly referred to as blue-green algae. As ugly as it may be, it is time to dive into this topic. Watersheds Canada is your source for information and action with our new education toolkit.
Watersheds Canada is launching a cyanobacteria education campaign to raise awareness and help individuals and community groups drive local change. By supporting shoreline restoration and water quality monitoring actions, we can safeguard our aquatic ecosystems, protect wildlife, and ensure the continued health of our nation’s waters.
