Vaccinium macrocarpon
The Large Cranberry is an evergreen shrub with simple, glossy leathery leaves arranged alternately along the branches. This small shrub could be considered ground cover as its main stalk grows along the ground. Branches, approximately 20cm tall, grow erect from this stalk. During the fall, leaves turn a reddish purple but remain on the plant. Between June and August, tiny pink flowers bloom at the end of the branches. By fall, edible red cranberries form either individually or in clusters.Scientific Name: Vaccinium macrocarpon
