The septic tanks are quite common in rural areas. It is important to get them inspected from time-to-time by professional septic inspectors. There are companies like ESSE Canada that provide septic inspections for rural properties.

This document goes over the 2023 sewage system re-inspection program that is mandatory for all waterfront properties within Tay Valley Township and lots within the Maberly Pines Subdivision. 

 

The Ontario Building Code – Septic Tanks: https://www.buildingcode.online/1162.html

The Ontario Building Code promotes public health and safety, fire protection, resource conservation, environmental integrity and accessibility. Section 8.2.2.3 goes over septic system regulation; things like working capacity, design, and depth from ground surface. It is important to look these over when installing a new septic system to make sure your system follows these regulations.
