Havelock, Ontario, February 24, 2026 — The five pillars of partnership perfection joined together for a $16,000 Yamaha Financial Services [YFS] Stay Outdoors Program cheque presentation to Watersheds Canada during a media event hosted by Dunfords Powersports & Marine.
On Tuesday, February 24, the Dunfords showroom floor glittered with much more than leading outdoor brands and products – it was a showcase of the partnership commitment of Yamaha Financial Services, Yamaha Motor Company, its local dealership, Watersheds Canada, and its community-based volunteers.
“It’s not very often that you see the full spectrum of the (conservation) network come together in one place, so I am really excited to be part of this,” said Maximillian Menyhart, a business relationship manager for YFS. “The leadership and hands-on stewardship at Watersheds Canada align very well with Yamaha’s values because our lakes, rivers and watersheds are really part of who we are.”

Yamaha Financial Services, Yamaha Motor Company, Dunfords Powersports & Marine, Watersheds Canada, and local lake associations come together to celebrate this funding announcement in support of fish habitat restoration work.
“For Yamaha, the outdoors is not just a place of work, it’s actually where we get to explore and adventure. It’s a place where we get to connect with friends and family, and now through YFS’s Stay Outdoors Program, it’s a place where we forever benefit from the habitat restoration efforts of non-profit organizations like Watersheds Canada.”
Maximillian added that YFS is pleased to award over $100,000 to six non-profit organizations from across the country in support of their conservation, education, access and sustainable use initiatives. Since the launch of this program in 2022, YFS has awarded over $300,000 to 16 clubs and associations with support from 18 dealers.
Accepting Yamaha Financial Services Stay Outdoors cheque was Melissa Dakers from Watersheds Canada who immediately acknowledged several ambitious fish habitat volunteers who, on their own initiative, travelled great distances for the funding handoff in Havelock.
“Yamaha Financial Services Stay Outdoors funding is going to restore two walleye and two lake trout spawning beds on four Ontario lakes this fall. I am delighted that with us today, we have volunteer representatives from every lake association involved in these upcoming projects,” said Dakers.
